I don't want to be an apathetic Canadian

I love your website and I appreciate the good work you are doing. I will speak to my husband about a donation. I don't want to be an apathetic Canadian. This e-mail to the government people listed was inspired by your stories today. [Link]
My children go back to school in 8 days! All that shields them from potential harm, both physically and emotionally, is a wooden fence (yet to be built).
It seems like no one cares. I have had zero response from Dalton McGuinty. Zero response from Diane Finley. Zero response from Mr. Prentice. Mr. Harper responded via an aide which, put yourself in my shoes, just ain't good enough. I know you people are important and busy, but don't you care about those of us on the front line?
Why write to my government officials if I don't get a response? Why believe in democratic values if my elected officials don't really have to be accountable to the people?
I have been living in this ridiculous environment for over 6 months. Everything I once believed to be good and true has been shattered by the failure of my government to protect me and my family. The Natives are running the show and I am forced to sit and watch from my front porch. I am scared, I am tired, I am sad!
Is it true that Natives from Six Nations have participated in cigarette smuggling, illegal gun running, and other illegal activities while the government turns a blind eye?
Is it true that their illegal activities result in profits which are then funneled to terrorist groups?
Is it true that the Natives, camped 100 feet from my home with easy access to my backyard, are documented to be carrying weapons, guns etc?
If they have guns, I demand to know the truth because I don't want to risk harm to my family!
I pay over $3000/year in property taxes. For what? For my roads (which get blocked and ripped up)? For my police service (who refuse to enforce the law because their bosses are scared of another Ipperwash). Never mind Ipperwash, who the hell wants another Caledonia. The damage done here is far worse than what happened in Ipperwash. Why? Because you have taken a position of pandering to a group who: a) don't recognize the existence of our country never mind our laws; and b) are so tainted with their own racism and illegal activity that it is disgusting. Result...the average citizen no longer respects the government. The average citizen no longer respects the law. I don't respect the law because I know it can bend to the will of those in political power. It bends to threats by a group not motivated by their desire for justice, but motivated by their desire for money. They keep pushing and pushing and pushing to see how much they can get. Oh my God! When will enough be enough. First Caledonia, then Shelburne, now Brantford.
Behaviour that is rewarded will be repeated! Do you really want to reward their behaviour? Do you, or do you just want this to go away as quietly as possible. A short term solution for a long term problem is a recipe for disaster.
You should know, the people here are getting desperate. We want to know that you are hearing us. We want to know what you are doing for us. We want to know, not just be told, that we are safe. If this is not resolved soon things are going to get even uglier. People here want to fight fire with fire. They block a road, perhaps we will block a road. Do you really want the QEW blocked? What about the 401?
I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THE PROVINCE IS ALLOWING THEM, GIVING THEM PERMISSION TO STAY. IF THEY CAN STAY THERE FOR FREE, I AM GOING TO START LIVING ON MY LAND FOR FREE. HEY, IF THE PROVINCE IS PAYING THEIR WATER AND HYDRO BILLS, PLEASE START PAYING MY WATER AND HYDRO TOO. IF YOU DON'T, AND I'M SURE YOU WON'T, IT'S JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF UNEQUAL TREATMENT UNDER OUR LAW.
I want each of you to respond to this e-mail even if it is just an acknowledgement. Why? This way I know that at the very least, someone will have read this. Let's see shall we. And, I don't want an aid to respond, I want the addressees' to respond please.
