I am writing to inform you that if you do not charge the Natives of Caledonia for every criminal act they have committed from the beginning, then I want my criminal record wipe clean as well. I am a hard working citizen of this country and abide by your laws even though I don't agree with all of them. I am 34 years old, married, have 3 children, which I work very hard to support. I know I broke the law; I have paid for it since. I was 18 when I was charged, and because of my record, later in life, I was refused entry into the U.S. which was a requirement of my job. So therefore, I lost my job. In my line of work, to make any good money I had to cross the border. I lost everything (thankfully not my family) car, house, and my credit was ruined. I tried to hold it all together only to be slapped in the face with the news of these terrorists that are not all being held accountable for their actions as well as being given every advantage in the country.
What kind of a country do I live in where a hard working citizen who hasn' t had a brush with the law in over 16 years, is held like a prisoner? I am not allowed to travel, and have had employment opportunities pass me by because of my past.
My mother always told me to focus on the future not the past, but because of my past I have no future.
This is why I find this news to be very disturbing. I know I broke the law, and I live with this everyday, I understand being held accountable. I DON' T WANT MY RECORD WIPED CLEAN. I WANT EQUALITY AMONG CANADIANS, I WANT THESE CRIMINALS BROUGHT TO JUSTICE TO PAY FOR THEIR ACTIONS.
If I have to live with my mistake for the rest of my life then so should they. They are mocking you, me, and this country, as well as previous generations that fought to make Canada what it is.
PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING. Restore my faith, and the faith of others in this country, and government.
This the first in a series of e mails I will be sending out. Eventually it will reach someone in the same situation as myself, or others, whom are more educated that will ban together for the greater cause. Either way the snowball has started its decent downhill, See you at the bottom.
