Diane Finley!.. we are all dummies?

I just received this email from Finley's office that states that she continues to be spending time in Caledonia with residents. Does she think if we read this loose statement of her presence in Caledonia that we will perceive it as being true?

Maybe,... she is lost?
Maybe,... somebody should send her a map?
Maybe,... there's another Caledonia somewhere?
Maybe,... she's been reading politics for dummies?
Maybe,... she is convinced that we are all dummies?

Thank you very much for your emails. Your concerns are very important to Minister Finley, and she has been speaking on your behalf to the Office of the Hon. Jim Prentice, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, since this conflict began.

Minister Finley is concerned about the health of her constituents and the state of Caledonia. She continues to meet with constituents and has been in Caledonia regularly to see effects with her own eyes. Most recently, she held a week of special meetings with residents of Caledonia and attended a public meeting at Notre Dame Public School.

Many people have expressed frustration at not knowing the details of the progress made around the negotiating table. Like any negotiations -- whether it is a trade union or business -- the details are not disclosed until final resolutions are made. When bits of information are reported out of context in the media or by word of mouth, there is a real concern that this can easily raise the level of stress on the residents of Caledonia and Six Nations and lead to a spark of violence.

We are very aware that few words can console those who have endured the stress caused by these circumstances, but please know that Minister Finley continues to work very hard to help resolve this situation peacefully. We encourage you to please continue to contact our office whether by email, fax, phone and/or feel free to walk in. Our door is always open to listen to your concerns and suggestions.

Sincerely,

Michelle Bakos
Constituency Assistant
