Two Tier Hydro One's Deal

An Email to Hrdro One from one of our Readers:

Dear Ms Cancilla:

Just a note to remind you that during these consultations for special rates for the first Nations you should also consider that the rest of the Ontario Stake Holders want to be treated equally and fairly and receive the same rates as the First Nations.

It is not just for you to give the First Nations a deal different from the other Stake Holders and should you choose to do this would be viewed as discrimination towards all of the non First Nations Stake Holders.

I would also like to remind Hydro One that they also have transmission lines that cross many miles of private property without fair compensation to the property owners and without any consideration for fair compensation towards property taxes, reduced land values etc ( A free ride for Hydro One so to Speak ). Maybe it is time for Hydro One to step up to the plate and pay Royalties based on the flow of hydro through the lines crossing all of these private properties and right this injustice that has been occurring since the first transmission lines were installed.

Should you choose to go down this road of a special deal for the First Nations, you could be opening the door to Pandora's Box and the many land owners of Ontario who have born the burden of your lines may start coming back to the table to ask for proper payment for the use of their land and payment of power royalties for the commercial use of their properties for the for profit transmission of electricity.

I am one such land owner and as such am very interested in the outcome of these consultations.

Please keep me informed of the special deal that you are offering the First Nations People and include me on a mailing list of the continuing procedures and any special pricing programs you will be offering the First Nations.

I too would like to be treated equally under the Law and not discriminated against because of my colour or race.

Signed a Canadian White Anglo Saxon Tax Payer and Landowner with Power Lines crossing my Properties.
