Hi Gary and Christine,
I was reading your posting of December 20 regarding the Archaeological review of the site.
It states that artifacts were found that dated back several thousand years. If the artifacts are that old then they predate by a few thousand years the Six Nations being in southern Ontario. They came from New York State in the late 1700s. Why would you store artifacts that pre-date Six Nations at Six Nations?
These artifacts are historic artifacts belonging to the Crown and Canada not Six Nations since the Crown had control of this land when Six Nations came here. Obviously the peoples to whom these artifacts once belonged were someone else’s ancestors not Six Nations. This is an outrage that we allow archaeological artifacts that represent the history of our country to be given to people who are not originally from the area.
These artifacts belong in a National Museum.
