Now that we have established that the land was in fact surrendered, where does that leave us?

Now that we have established that the land was in fact surrendered, where does that leave us?  The Natives are still there and will still be there until they get what they feel they deserve.  If they have no claim, then why are they allowed to remain there?  I am really at a lost for the logic behind all of this.  Canadians were told that it was unacceptable that the Native remain there for the winter.  Here we are in February now.  It's been almost a year.  What has them so afraid?  Why are they so terrified to stand up against what is wrong?  They are like spoiled children!  I don't give my kids what they want when they stomp and have tantrums, why should the government?

My kids and others of this community are in a state of fear, and confusion.  I also fear for future of the children of this community.  They will grow up with no regard for the police or the judicial system.  Why would they?  We have police who sit here day in and day out and nothing happens.  Lets not be childish in thinking the children don't listen and digest the frustrations of adults.  That they don't see that the Natives get preferential treatment and we don't.  This is the two tier justice system.  They have seen it as we as adults have.  Let's not insult their intelligence.

This has gone on far to long, without any resolve.  The government try to placate us with rhetoric of how negotiations are going well, and there is headway, while all the way we know the truth, the negotiations are a FARSE!  It's a stall tactic.  And speaking of stall tactics, how about the compensation package for residents backing onto the 'issue'?  We were told in June of 2006 that there would be something in place in two weeks, well, it's almost 8 months later!  We have all gone though hell and by no fault of our own.  We have gone through this by our government's inactivity.  We have done nothing to deserve this treatment.  Our only fault is having too much faith in the Liberal government.  That will never happen again.

This needs to be dealt with sooner than later.  Soon it will be spring again and things will heat up again.....wait and see.

Please feel free to pass this on to whomever.  It needs to get out to everyone.  Caledonia is still here and we are still under siege!
