Dear Premier McGuinty,

When is enough really enough?

The residents of Haldimand and Caledonia have demonstrated a level of patience that would make the Pope proud over the past 15 months with the occupation of Douglas Creek Estates (DCE), the violence, intimidation, wanton destruction of public and private property and the threats.

The hydro transmission line that is intended to replace the one removed prior to the occupation of DCE which was to be a key to hydro transmission to western Ontario is still unfinished. How much is this unfinished hydro transmission replacement line costing the taxpayers of this province?

Now we have a similar situation in Hagersville and Deseronto. Today we are hearing that the same Six Nations Indians have put a developer in York, Ontario on notice that if he doesn’t grovel then they the Indians will be visiting York. They put Wal-Mart on notice in Dunnville that they will stop development of the Wal-Mart store in Dunnville.

I read a report on Turtle Island news yesterday that land in Scarborough has been targeted as an Iroquois burial site. Mirabel airport land expropriated from farmers is planned to be returned to farmers and the Mohawks are threatening another occupation there.

Six Nations has put Brantford, Cambridge and Kitchener/Waterloo on notice that will interfere with projects there.

My question for you Mr. Premier is when is enough really enough?

We now have Manitoba Indians claiming ownership of the air over their reserves and wanting a share of revenues from Manitoba Telephone. How long do you think it will take for Six Nations to pick up on this money making opportunity?

I said to friends last February 28, 2006 when the initial occupation of Douglas Creek Estates took place that if it isn’t stopped now the Indians will only get bolder with each occupation. Hagersville is “déjà vu all over again” as Yogi Berra once said.

Various representatives of your government including DCE negotiators have repeatedly said in letters to me that Ontario stands behind its deed system in this Province in response to my question on the same topic. I will ask the question of you the Premier.

  1. Does your government stand behind the land deed system in this Province?
  2. Why are the OPP not defending private property from illegal occupations?
  3. Why are the OPP not arresting Six Nations trespassers on private property?

It seems that communicating with your government is like talking to a rock but hopefully you get the picture that enough is really enough with Hagersville. I expect that you will finally deal with these criminals and let this county get back on its feet.

Your answers to my questions are essential to the well being of every Ontario Land Owner
