Caledonia has no faith in OPP

A southwestern Ontario mayor says Caledonia residents have lost faith in provincial police over an ongoing aboriginal occupation, and council will discuss not renewing their contract.

The council committee, which meets next Monday night, will discuss options other than renewing the contract, which is worth about $7 million a year and ends in September 2008.

Trainer says they will discuss hiring the RCMP, awarding the contract to a neighbouring service or starting their own force.
