Caledonia Residents Calling on OPP

Residents in Caledonia have let Haldimand OPP know that they feel unsafe in ongoing native demonstrations. A group of nearly 35 took to the streets in front of the Cayuga detachment yesterday, bearing signs and upside-down native and Canadian flags. They claim that police have done little in the last couple of years to ensure order in the community in the midst of the land claim dispute. One resident said that aboriginal protestors are throwing things off overpasses on Highway 6 making it hazardous for drivers. OPP say they are looking into ways of solving these problems, but have not confirmed who the culprits are.
