Letter - Re Christie Blatchford's "Helpless"

The Regional

November 3, 2010

I started to read "Helpless" on Oct. 28th and finished it Oct 20th by 11:30 a.m. There are a lot of people who should hide their heads in shame. I hope that none of you have children or grandchildren to whom you have to explain your actions regarding Caledonia's four-and-a-half years of tyranny, two-tier justice, false accusations and the hurting of so many people.

Thank God for the Christie Blatchfords and Gary McHales of this world.

To the native people who started this with your cowards hiding behind masks (paid troublemakers), may your Mother Earth have mercy on you. You scared the O.P.P. and the government into doing nothing. What has been accomplished other than pain, hurt, discrimination, and disrespect?

The only thing I learned from you was "it's ours," lots of cursing and swearing, vandalism, burning bridges, destroying hydro, burning tires and ganging up on older folks. Need I say more?

Christie Blatchford's book should be compulsory reading in all schools. I don't think this book will be a book of choice on the reservation.
